Nerd Alert!

I am in Paris and am more inspired by the diverse fashion then I could of ever imagined. My new year style that I am gonna try and copy will be the Nerd Chic (does that make sense?).

London in 6

Here is a little sneak peak at my short trip to London in six photos. Stonehenge, thatched cottages, the best meal, and London streets. Having a great time!

3 More Days Till...

Today I am packing for my trip and trying to fight the pre-trip butterfly's in my stomach. I am soooo excited to land in Great London and walk through the misty streets while warming my hands with a cup of tea!
After a few days we will jump onto a train headed to Paris for a new years celebration with friends. The aroma of rotisserie chickens and warm bread is what I am hoping for when I walk the streets. We shall see! I will keep you posted with plenty of pics. Yay

My Oma

Its been 19 years almost to date that my Oma has passed away but she is never forgotten. Every smell of cooked onions or sighting of paisley silk scarves reminds me of the best grandma ever known. I will admit that my opinion may be a bit biased, but it is hard not to be:)

Arms wide open, we (my sisters and I) would dive into her arms with the sound of her sweet chuckle and look forward to her delicious plum cakes and gingerbread cookies.

Oma, we all keep a piece of you in our hearts and will one day re-unite!

Treats so Good

What are you bringing for Christmas this year as a yummy treat? Me? Well this looks good and seems very easy to make. I will let you know how it all goes.

Ingredients:-1 lb large strawberries
-8 oz. cream cheese, softened (can use 1/3 less fat)
-3-4 tbsp powdered sugar (4 tbsp for a sweeter filling)
-1 tsp vanilla extract
-graham cracker crumbs

Directions:
1. Rinse strawberries and cut around the top of the strawberry. Remove the top and clean out with a paring knife, if necessary (some may already be hollow inside). Prep all strawberries and set aside.
2. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until creamy. Add cream cheese mix to a piping bag or ziploc with the corner snipped off. Fill strawberries with cheesecake mixture. Once strawberries are filled, dip the top in graham cracker crumbs. If not serving immediately, refrigerate until serving.

Before and After

This little guy was very outdated with a leather top and beaten up brown wood, but with a little elbow grease this piece is new and definitely fun!

We added two coats of semi-gloss tequila green paint, did a very heavy sanding throughout so that the old wood color would show through the top paint coat, and finished with a stain wipe down.

What do you think?

Music Video Tuesday

Ok, yes, a little silly but with the holidays right around the corner and the amount of family members and friends in a winter blue's funk, this just seemed appropriate.

Also, I would like to mention this is my B.F's favorite movie of all time and she will be turning the big 30 this Saturday:) Happy Birthday P

Music Video Tuesday

Need something a little more upbeat this week? Arcade Fire's "The Suburbs" is a great tune and a definite relatable tune.
Inspired by the little hooligans that hand out on the corner of my neighborhood, this video reminds me that I too was once 13 years old! Man am I getting old:) Enjoy

Hair

This Friday I have a friends wedding to attend. I have the simple black dress that gets used for every occasion, but recently I have made a hair change (blond to red) and would like to have some fun with my overall appearance. I just can not decide on which hair style matches the outfit best. Any suggestions?

Rebeka Seale

Do you need an un-expensive alternative for a little Christmas gift. Maybe a co-worker or a new acquaintance friend, or even a neighbor?
Rebeka Seale is a very lovely lady who make original watercolors. My favorite thing about her art? It is that they have a winter holiday quality to them, but would not be at all inappropriate for display through out the seasons. Folksy and very well priced (between $15-$17), check out her work. So cute!
