Small Details = Big Impact

Gerbera Dress $56.99, Eastern Exposure Dress $52.99
This summer it is all about color and detail.
We just can't get enough of these two frocks; plenty of fringe, flowers, lace, and color:)

Day Trip: Search for Donuts

Day trip: Last week Chicago was calling and we answered!
The Donut Vault is a little gem  right in the heart of downtown Chicago where you can definitely get your sugar fix on. A super small hole of a place that packs a big personality. Do not be afraid of the long line, jump right in because when the last donut is served, their doors shut fast! Our day trip left us having snugger jeans but it was completely worth it:)
Note:You can check their twitter feeds for donut quantity updates.

New obsession: All things Ombre! We are introducing some new ombre colored items into the shop in the next few weeks so it is only appropriate to have an all out ombre moment:)

Music Video Tuesday

This weeks video is from Laura Veirs (check out her July Flame album, it's awesome). This video is sweet and reminds me of the story's my Opa (grandpa) told us about.
Long ago his mother would take in animals of all kinds on their farm. A one eyed goose, a baby deer, and at one time a big black bird:) A true animal lover.

Techni-Color Bracelet DIY

Supplies Needed: Embroidery thread,  metal washers, Scissors, Ribbon, Pliers
1. Tie the washers together with a scrap piece of the embroidery thread. Make sure the know is tied very tight!
2. Wrap each washer with a colorful piece of embroidery thread. Note: The smaller the washer, the more wrapping you will need to do.
3. Connect the decorative ribbon by looping it through the washer and tying a double knot. Do this on both sides.
4. Cut the center piece of the ribbon and tie a small knot on the end so no unraveling happens.
5. I applied small amount of nail polish to help the ribbon from unraveling. I chose a fun contrasting color but please note that you may not need to do this on certain types of ribbon. Its completely optional!

DIY Indoor Planter

A few years back my mom found this super unique antique planter. I was crazy for it, so she let me have my way and create my very own indoor garden. Here is what I did:

Notes:
I used a mixture of sand and garden soil for the dirt mixture since I have a wide variety of plant types.
